One of a Kind
From a series I began in 1994.
The first piece in the series was featured on the cover of Metalsmith Magazine’s first Exhibition in Print Catalog in 1994.
This piece was the last in the series. It has never been worn.
Made with:
I fabricated the uppermost 3-dimensional hollowform shape of 14 karat white sheet gold which I later textured with a carving bit.
I fabricated the central pole and supporting arms of oxidized sterling silver.
I also fabricated the armature underlying the red beads of oxidized sterling silver.
Tiny, antique red European glass beads which I layered around the rungs of the oval sterling armature.
Contemporary, bronze-colored Japanese glass seed beads.
Two 14 karat yellow gold tie tack prongs that are secured with nickel silver backs.
Weight:
Lightweight.
Dimensions:
1 5/8” wide x 5 3/4” tall x about 1/4” deep not including tie tack prongs.
