One of a Kind
With a quiet, old-fashioned aesthetic that calls to mind peppermint ice cream - or vintage polks dot dresses.
One of the very first Anemone brooches I made in the late 1980s or early 1990s, when I was just getting going.
Made with:
Antique Venetian glass beads in shades of pink and coral. The coral-colored beads are known as “white hearts” which were made to resemble carnelian. There are two layers of glass: an inner layer that is typically white and an outer layer in a shade of red - in this case, more like coral. The two-layer structure lends the beads maximum luminosity.
Contemporary Czech glass beads in shades of turquoise and black.
A hand-drilled wooden form with an ultrasuede backing.
A hand-fabricated sterling silver pin stem…which indicates that this is one of the very first Anemone brooches I made, ca. late 1980s or early 1990s. Please note: this pin stem is defintely rather thick, meaning it is best worn on a sweater or jacket. If you’d like to me to change it to a thinner nickel silver pinstem, I will do so for an extra $25. Just click “Contact” and send me a note.
Weight:
Lightweight.
Dimensions:
3 1/2” tall by 2 1/4” wide
